About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Engineer to join one of the UK's leading privately owned ground investigation specialists. The organisation delivers a comprehensive range of investigation services, from small-scale trial pits to large, complex, multi‑million‑pound projects nationwide. Clients include major infrastructure bodies, local authorities, and private developers.

Key Responsibilities
You'll be part of a well‑established team of Senior Engineers, working collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary environment. Partnering closely with in‑house Contract Managers, you'll take ownership of the technical delivery of projects. Typical duties include:

Briefing field staff and attending site when required
Producing and reviewing technical outputs such as geological logs, in-situ testing data, monitoring results, and factual reports
Overseeing the technical quality of deliverables issued to clients

Your workload will likely involve a variety of projects, ranging from short one‑day investigations to long‑term schemes running over several months. The position is primarily office‑based, with site attendance as needed. Some larger projects may require periods of office‑based work while located on site.

Who We're Looking For
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in managing technical aspects of ground investigation projects and delivering high‑quality factual reporting. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Proven experience overseeing technical deliverables on site
Strong organisational and time‑management abilities to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent communication skills for managing expectations with both internal teams and external stakeholders
A solid understanding of BS5930, soil and rock logging, exploratory techniques, in-situ testing, and monitoring
Exceptional attention to detail
Proficiency with Open Ground or similar ground investigation software
