We are partnering with a specialist technical equipment provider to recruit a Field Service Engineer supporting advanced inspection, laboratory and materials testing systems across the UK.
This position offers a high degree of autonomy, technical variety and the opportunity to work across diverse industrial and scientific environments.
The Opportunity
Operating from Gloucester, you will take ownership of field-based engineering activities, ensuring equipment is installed, maintained and calibrated to the highest operational and compliance standards.
Your remit will include:
Installing and commissioning specialist inspection and processing systems
Carrying out preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support
Performing calibration and verification tasks in line with technical standards
Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults in the field
Managing service schedules and organising site visits independently
Maintaining accurate technical documentation and compliance records
Supporting spare parts management and field inventory control
Identifying opportunities for service improvements or equipment upgrades
Providing professional on-site customer support and technical guidance
This role involves nationwide travel and regular engagement with manufacturing, engineering and laboratory environments.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a practical, solutions-focused engineer with:
At least 2 years' hands-on technical service or maintenance experience
Electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding capability
Confidence reading technical drawings and working with diagnostic tools
Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan workloads independently
Clear communication skills and a professional customer-facing approach
Full UK driving licence
Experience with in inspection systems, laboratory equipment, NDT, or process machinery would be advantageous but is not essential.
