Job Description & How to Apply Below
This is a hands-on role working on the design, development and integration of bespoke electronic hardware used in technically demanding, mission-critical applications. The work runs across the full project engineering lifecycle, from concept, design, build & test, to delivery and support.
You will be part of a capable, experienced engineering group with strong technical depth across analogue, digital and mixed-signal design.
The role:
* Designing electronic hardware (analogue, digital and mixed-signal) to meet challenging technical specifications
* Producing schematics, supporting PCB layout and managing component selection and BOM
* Building, bench-testing, fault-finding and integrating prototypes through to qualification
* Working alongside mechanical, embedded software and systems colleagues on multi-discipline projects
* Producing accurate technical documentation and contributing to internal design reviews
* Supporting project planning, technical risk reviews and continuous improvement
About you:
You are likely to be a degree-qualified electronics engineer (or equivalent) with foundation years experience gained in a technically demanding sector such as defence, aerospace, communications, instrumentation or industrial electronics.
Useful experience and skills:
* Schematic capture using Altium, OrCAD, Cadence or similar
* Analogue and/or digital circuit design at board level
* Confident in lab work using oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analysers bench debugging
* Working from written requirements and producing clear technical documentation
* Any of: microcontroller-based design, FPGA, RF/microwave, power, or signal integrity exposure
A methodical, curious mindset, an interest in the underlying physics of what you are building, and a willingness to take a problem from rough idea through to a tested result is the sort of minset we are seeking.
Due to the nature of the work, applicants will need to hold UK Security Clearance, or be in a position to obtain it.
What is on offer:
* A varied technical role with real engineering scope to design and develop.
* Direct access to senior engineers and the people making decisions
* The role offers long-term project visibility, where you will see your work go from blank page to deployed hardware
* A supportive, low-bureaucracy/political environment with a sensible approach to work-life balance
* Competitive salary based on experience, plus a wider benefits package
To apply:
If this sounds like the right next step, please apply with an up-to-date CV. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to discuss the role in more detail
