What does it take to help deliver one of Gloucestershire's major highways improvement schemes while taking ownership of a critical section of works from day one?
A national highways contractor is looking to appoint 2 freelance Site Engineers for an immediate start on a with a focus on Structures works on this major project in the Gloucester area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer to join a long-term programme of works with a busy contractor delivering key infrastructure upgrades across the region.

With works already underway, our client requires two experienced Site Engineers who can hit the ground running and support delivery teams across key phases of the scheme. This is a day-shift position and offers ongoing freelance work for the right candidates.

Job Role

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the control, coordination and implementation of works on site across a designated section of the highways project. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

· Setting out and surveying works on site

· Monitoring progress and reporting to senior project staff

· Ensuring works are carried out in line with design specifications

· Managing quality assurance documentation

· Coordinating subcontractors and site teams

· Supporting delivery of major highways and civils works

· Maintaining health & safety standards across your work area

This requirement is urgent, and our client is ready to interview and mobilise suitable Site Engineers immediately.

Requirements

· Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major highways or civil engineering projects

· Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline

· Valid CSCS Card

· Strong setting out and site coordination experience

· Ability to work independently across a designated work section

· Good communication and reporting skills

· Highways project experience is essential
