Senior Nuclear Safety Case Engineer (Multiple Locations)

Key Areas of Expertise
  • Safety Case production and management e.g. engineering changes, safety reports (PSRs, PCSRs etc).
  • Hazard and Risk identification and assessment studies, e.g. FMEA, HAZOP, ALARP.
  • Internal and external hazard assessments.
  • Deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments (PSA).
  • Nuclear licensing and authorisations.
  • Integrating safety principles into engineering designs.
  • Structural integrity design/assessment of nuclear‑related structures and components.
Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering technical work to support the demonstration that a facility or system can be operated safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaising with clients to understand their challenges and developing solutions.
  • Representing the business in technical meetings with clients, regulators and other third parties.
  • Helping to maintain the technical capability/knowledge of the community and mentoring team members (as appropriate).
What You'll Need
  • A degree (or equivalent demonstrable experience) in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience of executing project tasks against relevant standards and best practices.
  • Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Chartered Member of a professional institute (or equivalent demonstrable experience) or working towards either Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
