An established and growing engineering business is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / Draughtsman to join its highly skilled design team in Gloucester.
With over three decades of experience delivering engineering solutions, the company works with customers across several sectors throughout the UK and internationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in the design and delivery of bespoke projects, working closely with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality mechanical designs and detailed engineering drawings while supporting projects from concept through to installation.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing mechanical designs and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Supporting the delivery of automation projects within agreed timescales and budgets
Conducting technical surveys at customer sites
Participating in design reviews and concept development sessions
Assisting with design risk assessments and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
Providing technical support to Sales, Projects and Manufacturing teams
Liaising directly with customers and suppliers
Supporting project engineering activities where required About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
Strong experience using Autodesk Inventor, Vault and AutoCAD
Experience producing manufacturing and assembly drawings
Experience with pneumatic control systems
Previous experience within manufacturing, food, pharmaceutical, warehousing or automotive environments
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Full UK Driving Licence
