Controls Engineer

Salary - £50,000-£55,000

The Role Our client, a leading engineering and automation specialist, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their team. This role involves working across the full project lifecycle, from concept and development through to commissioning and customer support.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out PLC, HMI, and motion control programming and modification
• Configure and integrate software and hardware for networked control systems with distributed I/O
• Program and integrate vision systems for inspection and measurement (e.g., Cognex or similar)
• Provide control system support for prototype machines, new builds, and existing equipment
• Ensure machine safety compliance with relevant international standards and best practices
• Prepare control system documentation for manufacture, testing, and customer handover
• Support customers through commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault finding (including on-site work)
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, productivity, and quality
• Contribute to product development and continuous improvement initiatives
