Job Summary
Health and Wellbeing Coach – full‑time hybrid role at the GL1 Leisure Centre, Gloucester. Requires own transport and ability to work 2‑3 evenings a week until around 19:30.
Responsibilities- Deliver personalised health coaching to individuals, enabling lifestyle behaviour change in areas such as healthy eating, smoking cessation, physical activity, weight management, alcohol consumption, and NHS Health Checks.
- Provide face‑to‑face, telephonic, and digital coaching via one‑to‑one and group sessions.
- Conduct triage, agenda setting, problem solving, motivational interviewing, goal setting and sign‑posting.
- Use behaviour‑tracking tools and digital communications (text, email, in‑app messaging).
- Manage caseloads using a Case Management System, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting and audit compliance.
- Support outreach activities including screening services, community events, roadshows and pop‑ups.
- Adhere to SOPs, data protection, health & safety, safeguarding and quality standards.
- Participate in performance audits, continuous professional development, supervision and training.
- Relevant health coaching qualification or accredited health coaching skills programme.
- Minimum six months of direct health‑coaching experience.
- Experience with behaviour‑change interventions for smoking, physical activity, NHS Health Checks, weight management or alcohol reduction.
- Caseload management proficiency with a case‑management system.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of social determinants of health, COM‑B model, behaviour‑change wheel and segmentation/risk stratification.
- Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development and flexible working (including evenings).
Desirable:
- Membership of professional bodies (ICF, EMCC, AoC, UKHCA).
- Degree in psychology, behavioural science or related field.
- Experience managing and supervising teams.
- Experience delivering NHS health screening services.
- Experience working with individuals with long‑term health conditions.
Salary Non‑London: £24,570 – £28,700 per annum.
