Community Health, Substance Abuse Counselor
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced drug and alcohol recovery practitioner to work within our Gloucestershire Service, working closely with partners from Probation and the courts as well as mental health and housing professionals and other multi agency partners.
Your focus will be to assist those who have been given a court order (CSTR) to engage with VIA, offer support, advice and interventions and to ensure that harm reduction advice is given. You will liaise with, housing, mental health and clinical teams supporting people to engage.
You will facilitate referrals into community services and carry out assessments working alongside the VIA hub teams and the wider Criminal Justice Team.

This role is dependent upon the successful applicant obtaining an enhanced DBS.
The ServiceAdult Drug and Alcohol Services across Gloucestershire transferred to Via on 1 st April 2024. The role is part of Via’s structure and provides a great opportunity to build on existing service strengths, drive new developments and make a positive impact as part of this new contract.
LocationThe post is predominantly based at our Cheltenham Hub and Probation offices across the county, with travel to our VIA hubs in Cinderford, Gloucester and Stroud.
