Job summary

We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our acute Inpatient band 6 physiotherapy rotation.

  • Stroke
  • Medicine
  • AMU

Each rotation is 12 months in length, with the potential to add further specialty rotations over time.

You will be supported to identify objectives for the rotation through a robust appraisal process and will be supported to develop both your clinical and leadership skills during each rotation.

Main duties of the job
  • Assumes responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of the clinical area in the absence of the team leader.
  • Delivers therapeutic interventions as a specialist clinician, using the principles of physiotherapy.

  • Assists the team in the day‑to‑day running of the clinical area.
  • Communicates with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to aid effective patient care, taking an active role in team meetings, joint treatment sessions, case conferences, and specialist interest group meetings; makes recommendations for appropriate and timely discharge/transfer from hospital.
  • Works as a specialist practitioner, utilising theoretical knowledge, clinical experience and clinical reasoning skills and techniques to assess, diagnose, plan and offer a range of treatment options; delivers, evaluates and amends the treatment plan. Includes patients with diverse or complex presentations/multi‑pathologies in individual or group therapy sessions.
  • Is required to work weekend and extended hours rosters.
