Senior Rotational Physiotherapist, Band 6

We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our acute Inpatient band 6 physiotherapy rotation.

This would be an excellent role for a physiotherapist who would like to start to develop their skills at band 6 level, whilst still having the chance to gain experience in a variety of clinical areas.

The rotation includes posts in the following areas:

• CCSR
• COTE
• Stroke
• Medicine
• AMU

Each rotation is 12 months in length, with the potential to add further specialty rotations over time.

You will be supported to identify objectives for the rotation through a robust appraisal process and will be supported to develop both your clinical and leadership skills during each rotation.

The post holder assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the clinical area, in the absence of the team leader.

To deliver therapeutic interventions, acting as a specialist clinician, using the principles of Physiotherapy.

Be responsible for personal development and supporting the development and supervision of others by CPD, linked to appraisal.

Be responsible for the organisation of own caseload and appropriately delegate to support workers or other staff members in order to ensure effective time management. To assist the team in the day to day running of the clinical area.

Communicate with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to aid effective patient care, which will include taking an active role in team meetings, joint treatment sessions, case conferences and specialist interest group meetings. Either working alone or as part of the multi-disciplinary team, to make recommendations for appropriate and timely discharge/transfer from hospital.

To work as a specialist practitioner in the clinical area utilising theoretical knowledge, clinical experience and clinical reasoning skills and techniques to assess, diagnose, plan and offer a range of treatment options; deliver, evaluate and amend the treatment plan. This will include patients with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies in individual or group therapy sessions.

You will be required to work weekend and extended hours rotas.

• Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written when interacting with patients/carers, other team members and the MDT.
• Work flexibly in response to the changing demands of the service and manage changes in service delivery in self and others
• Experience of supervising, appraising, and providing education/training to others
• Experience of working in the NHS in the UK
• Knowledge of and ability to apply and utilise evidence based practice, including National guidelines to deliver, evaluate and audit the service.
• Deliver a high level of skill in assessment and management of complex patients.
• Valid UK Driving License
• Have an understanding of the principles of physiotherapy as well as occupational therapy in order to contribute to the development of an integrated therapy service.
