Position: Wellbeing and Activity Assistant – 25hrs Guild House

Wellbeing and Activity Assistant 25hrs – Guild House Residential Home

£12.74 per hour weekdays, £13.74 per hour weekends.

Part time – 25 hours per week (5 days x 5-hour shifts) including either Saturday or Sunday on alternate weekends.

Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate and creative Wellbeing and Activity Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and facilitating a variety of activities and events that promote the physical, mental, and emotional well‑being of our residents, with a particular emphasis on those living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of our residents.
  • Encourage resident participation and engagement in activities.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure activities are well‑supported and safe.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making changes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the care home.
  • Support residents with dementia through structured and spontaneous wellbeing activities
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with older people is preferred.
  • Understanding of dementia and person‑centred approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, patient and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for improving the lives of older people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied rota pattern
