OSCE Registered Nurse (internal HCSW only) - Band 5

This role is only open to existing HCSWs currently working at Gloucestershire Hospitals.

To help you transition into a Band 5 Registered Nurse role, you will benefit from a structured pathway, including an 8-week supernumerary period designed to build your confidence and competence in practice. You will also receive dedicated mentorship and guidance from experienced nursing teams, working in a safe environment that enables you to develop and grow. This is complemented by a 12-month Preceptorship programme to further enhance your ongoing professional development.

- Demonstrate ability to assess patient condition, develop and implement appropriate care, within the multidisciplinary team.
- To communicate effectively, especially where patient ability to do so is compromised.
- Ability to disseminate contentious and delicate information appropriately.
- To deliver safe care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, using equipment and resources safely and as appropriate.
- To administer medication and treatment within Procedure for the Ordering, Prescribing and Administration of Medication Guidelines.
- To deliver and receive information which may cause emotional distress to all parties.
- Participate in mentorship and educational programmes for students and other members of the team.
- To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures and professional code of conduct.
- Regularly responsible for the supervision and mentorship of unqualified, qualified staff and students.
- To input and retrieve patient and staff information from computer-based systems.
- Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council NMC.
- Evidence of completing the OSCE.
- Experience of working in an acute clinical environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrates understanding and consistent application of Trust values and behaviours.
- Completion of all eLearning and, if out of practice for over 3 years, evidence of completion of the 'e-lfh Back to the Floor for Nursing' e-learning.
- Participation in audits, quality improvement, or well-articulated reflective learning.
- Enthusiasm for a specific area of nursing.
- Examples such as leadership in training, extra clinical skills, or proactive learning.
£32,073 to £39,043 a year (pro rata if part time)
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
