What you will be doingWith previous NHS or private care experience, you will oversee and provide high-quality care and support to people in a neurological setting, while supporting your team and promoting good teamwork. As a Senior Sister, you will lead and coordinate the quality and management of nursing care and the delivery of clinical services, ensuring the day-to-day operations of your unit perform well.
You will also:
- Delegate nursing tasks to nurses working in the unit and coordinate with other teams
- Monitor service users conditions and respond to changes
- Supervise other members within the team and provide guidance and support
- Make critical decisions regarding service user assignments, staff scheduling, and resource allocation
- Act as liaison between nursing staff and other healthcare professionals with effective communication and collaboration
No two days will be the same, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, but also a good amount of routine.

The Dean Neurological Centre has 60 beds and is located on the outskirts of Gloucester, with good transport links to nearby towns.
The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability. It specialises in slow stream rehabilitation focused on maximising each individual s abilities, comfort and quality of life. Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment; there are well-equipped therapy facilities and other amenities such as gardens, gym and minibus.
