As an Occupational Psychologist, you'll use your expertise to shape, enhance and elevate human performance in a high stakes defence environment. It's a role with real purpose supporting the selection, development, resilience and wellbeing of military personnel who operate in some of the most challenging conditions.
This is a unique opportunity to apply evidence based psychological principles across assessment, coaching, learning, wellbeing and organisational development while collaborating closely with Ministry of Defence psychologists, Defence scientific specialists, and international partners. You'll be joining a growing capability in the Human Performance department, with the scope to influence practice, lead research projects and advance your own professional development.
Day-to-day, your work will directly influence operational capability, contribute to national security, and support the careers and welfare of those who serve.
- Deliver evidence based psychological assessment, development and coaching to enhance individual and team performance.
- Apply occupational psychology principles across selection, learning, wellbeing and organisational initiatives.
- Conduct research, analyse data and present insights to specialist and non specialist audiences.
- Lead and deliver group based and individual psychological interventions.
- Collaborate with MOD psychologists, Defence scientists, internal stakeholders and international partners on shared projects.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at Hereford.
Essential experience of the Occupational Psychologist
- Experience applying occupational psychology in complex, high performance or safety critical environments.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to varied audiences.
- Recognised qualification and experience in coaching.
- Experience delivering psychological interventions in both group and individual settings.
- Experience delivering and interpreting psychometric assessments, evidenced by BPS RQTU membership or eligibility.
Qualifications for the Occupational Psychologist
- MSc in Occupational Psychology (BPS accredited).
- HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist and Chartered Occupational Psychologist (BPS).
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Must be British Nationals.
