Care Assistant

The Care Assistant role offers homecare services to all our customers ranging from health and wellbeing activities, housekeeping, personal care to companionship. Care Assistants are expected to effectively maintain Audley's objective to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care that is compliant with CQC requirements and that facilitates re‑enablement and support by showing understanding, empathy, respect and warmth to our customers.

• Visit village and community customers daily, following each customer's personal care plan and providing personal care and assistance with day‑to‑day tasks.
• Help customers with getting in and out of bed, washing and bathing, dressing, and assisting mealtimes including preparation of drinks.
• Prepare and administer medication and provide continence care as required.
• Perform house duties including fitness support, health awareness programmes, cooking, laundry, vacuuming, ironing and other housework.
• Support customers in attending medical appointments and collecting prescriptions, and assist with home‑from‑hospital support.
• Encourage customers to be as independent as possible in all daily activities, including personal care and exercise.
• Liaise with family members where required and respect customers' rights to dignity and privacy.
• Fully comply with safeguarding policies and behaviours.
• Attend all relevant and compulsory training to continually improve skills and understanding.

• A driving licence and access to a vehicle for community work.
• Good level of written and oral English.
• Use of company mobile and an app to manage schedules and keep in contact with the care team.
• Ability to accurately complete electronic daily logs to reflect care plans and follow medication instructions.
• Good knowledge of the local area.
• Personal presentation and hygiene should be to a high standard, including cleanliness of uniform, and ensuring jewellery, nails and hair are in line with company policy.
• Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively and to adapt to meet different customers’ requirements.
• Acts as a role model through impeccable customer, owner and team member service.

• Audley will fund the QCF Level2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
