Senior Mental Health Practitioner FPCC

Role Overview

This is a permanent, part‑time (37.5 hours per week) clinic clinician and supervisor role in the First Point of Contact Centre (FPCC). The position supports a multidisciplinary team of Band7 Clinical Leads, Band6 Senior Mental Health Practitioners, Band5 Mental Health Practitioners, Band3 Call Handlers and students, providing supervision, mentoring and coaching.

• Triage patients at the point of contact, provide immediate mental health support and identify the most appropriate service for their ongoing needs.
• Offer advice, guidance and support to callers experiencing mental health distress, providing routine, urgent or crisis response.
• Respond to urgent referrals with acute needs and high risk situations within the community.
• Support callers, families, carers, emergency services and referrers who may need additional assistance.
• Maintain resilience, emotional strength and professional boundaries when dealing with distressed individuals.

• Day shifts/Long day shifts: 7am‑8pm, 9am‑10pm, 7am‑3pm, 9am‑5pm, 2pm‑10pm
• Night shifts: 9pm‑7:30am
• Flexible working may be considered where it meets the individual and service requirements.
