An exciting Allied Health Professional (AHP) Leadership opportunity within our Inpatient Mental Health Services has become available.
The AHP Operational leadership role will deliver robust operational leadership to our therapists working across our In-Patient Mental Health Services. The post holder will provide positive and visible leadership through a collaborative, creative, motivational, and problem-solving approach. They will drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and evidence based best practice.
Working as part of the senior leadership team, this post requires collaborative working with a range of operational, professional, and corporate colleagues , they will live their values and be a role model for highly credible and compassionate operational leadership.
The post holder will provide operational leadership within the current review of our therapy offer within our In-patient Mental Health Services, supporting transformation and continuous improvement. They will support the Trust's commitment to outstanding standards of governance and will identify service priorities and set/monitor standards, ensuring the delivery of deliver high quality services.
The post holder will meaningfully and effectively engage our In-patient Mental Health Services AHP workforce to promote job satisfaction and best patient experience and outcomes. They will ensure that our workforce is developed and empowered to contribute to service improvement and innovation.
The post holder is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Allied Health Professional and Exercise Practitioner staffing within the Trusts Mental Health Inpatient Services, as delegated by the Service Director for MH & LD Inpatient and Urgent Care.
The post holder will provide operational management and clinical leadership of the Allied Health Professional and Exercise Practitioner workforce.
The post holder will work in collaboration with the senior management group to:
- Deliver operationally efficient and effective Allied Health Professional and Exercise Practitioner services.
- Ensure appropriate financial control.
- Modernise and develop the services reflecting local needs and priorities.
- Provide strong operational leadership for Allied Health Professional and Exercise Practitioner staff across Mental Health Inpatient Services
- In conjunction with the Trust Allied Health of Professions and Chief Allied Health Professional provide credible clinical leadership.
- Ensure effective performance management of the Allied Health Professional and Exercise Practitioner staffing.
- Adopt corporate and clinical governance and best practice principles in the delivery of services.

- 81% said that care of patients and service users is the Trust's priority, compared with an average in comparable NHS Trusts in England of 64%.
This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas.
