This is a Paediatric Dietitian Team Lead role

Due to maternity leave, an opportunity has arisen within Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Up to 1.0 WTE is available on a fixed-term basis. This post would suit an experienced Band 6 paediatric dietitian seeking to develop leadership and management experience, or an established Band 7 paediatric dietitian with team‑lead experience.

The successful applicant will provide day-to-day operational leadership and require strong specialist knowledge across a range of paediatric conditions. The role includes managing a varied and challenging caseload, primarily within the acute hospital setting, while contributing to county‑wide and community services, including the GLOW paediatric weight‑management service. The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and support less experienced dietetic staff.

Applicants should demonstrate effective leadership, sound clinical judgement, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work confidently within a busy, changing environment. Relevant continuing professional development and experience of managing complex paediatric cases are essential. The successful applicant will join a well‑established, respected and supportive paediatric dietetic team providing a countywide service. The post will be based primarily at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, with work across Trust sites and community settings, including visits where required.

As Lead Paediatric Dietitian, you will provide clinical and operational leadership for a county‑wide dietetic team. The role combines specialist practice, team leadership and service development. You will manage a complex caseload across acute, outpatient and community settings, supporting children and families with food allergy, faltering growth, obesity, restrictive eating, coeliac disease, cystic fibrosis and feeding difficulties. You will also contribute to multidisciplinary clinics and the GLOW weight‑management service.
