About the client:
The client lives with his wife, who works from home, and one of his adult daughters. His other daughter visits regularly. The family home is set in a beautiful countryside location within a friendly village, offering a peaceful and welcoming environment. The village has a local shop, two pubs, a river and plenty of lovely countryside walks to enjoy. The client can drive but finds driving increasingly difficult due to his condition and rural location.
The successful candidate will therefore need to be confident and comfortable with driving and assisting with transport when required. We are looking for a caring, reliable and proactive individual who can build a strong professional relationship with the client and his family, while supporting him to maintain his independence and enjoy everyday life. There are two small, friendly dogs in the home.
They may bark initially but quickly settle. The support worker will not be expected to walk or care for them, although they may occasionally need feeding or company. When you'll be working: 12-hour shifts, live-in support Two-week blocks are the standard preference, however flexibility of a few days either way for handovers and gap-filling Willingness to share holiday and festive cover is required, including Christmas, Easter and New Year In this role, youll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance.
While the role is offered on a flexible zero-hours contract, the work is ongoing and typically provides a stable working pattern with the same client. Youll also receive an additional 14.07% holiday pay on every hour worked. What you'll have:
