ABL Health deliver the Healthy Lifestyle service in Gloucestershire, commissioned by Gloucestershire County Council . This transformative service works collaboratively with communities to transform the lives of the local population. The service supports residents to help them lose weight, stop smoking, reduce alcohol consumption, get more active and improve their wellbeing - all embedded in sustainable behaviour change. The service will also deliver the Healthy Beginnings programme supporting families with healthy lifestyles through pregnancy to child's second birthday, as well as the Healthy Workplace award scheme
This is a leadership role where the post holder will have a real influence on the clinical and operational excellence of the service. The post holder will take a pro-active lead in building relationships, partnerships and alliances in the community, secondary care, and primary care settings, and supporting specialist advisors to deliver outcomes that benefit clients referred to the service. They will be responsible for the line management of staff working across Gloucestershire.
The post holder must have extensive knowledge and hand's-on experience in public health or behaviour-change settings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide strong practice leadership, driving quality improvement and supporting the planning, development and delivery of the Gloucestershire service. You will lead and manage a team of Advisors, overseeing performance, supervision, professional development and the delivery of evidence-based interventions. The role will involve conducting observations and care record audits, monitoring KPIs and outcomes, producing performance reports, and working closely with data and professional leads to embed the integrated service strategy.
You will build effective relationships with primary, secondary and community care stakeholders, support referral pathways and promotional campaigns, contribute to governance and multidisciplinary meetings, and deliver training where required. You will also ensure high standards of record keeping, compliance with policies and procedures, and the safe and effective delivery of Healthy Lifestyle Services, while contributing to continuous improvement and the wider social value of the service.
Skills and Competencies Required
- An experienced senior leader with experience in delivering excellent healthy lifestyle services. across community settings
- Skilled in project management accustomed to using tools and processes to identify project goals, set and manage the schedule, anticipate, and identify issues, remove obstacles, delineate responsibility, track task completion, and communicate progress
- Experience in evolving and developing services within a complex health system.
- A positive and proactive leader with the ability to motivate, engage and support teams to achieve the highest standards and outcomes .
- A strategic thinker, able to foresee and take action to deal with problems and opportunities.
- An adept communicator who adapts the message to fit the needs of the audience including clients, staff, volunteers and partner agencies
- Results orientated and naturally seek quantitative goals and actively seek to outperform them.
- An experienced health practitioner with a knowledge of smoking cessation, weight management or similar
- Be able to build strong relationships, foster trust and co-operation among colleagues and stakeholders
- Be quality driven; naturally seek high standards and actively seek to improve them.
