Senior Payroll Professional (12-Month FTC)

Location: Gloucester (Hybrid – 3 days on-site)

Salary: Up to £40,000

Benefits: 12-month fixed-term contract, hybrid working, enhance pension and employee benefits

Our client, a rapidly growing business, is hiring a Senior Payroll Professional to oversee and manage end-to-end payroll operations during a key period of transition and growth.

This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement across the function. They are looking for someone available to start mid-March ideally.

What you’ll do
  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and full compliance
  • Oversee the timely preparation and submission of payroll reports
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant payroll legislation and regulations
  • Handle payroll queries professionally, providing clear and timely resolutions
  • Collaborate closely with finance to ensure seamless payroll data integration
  • Monitor and enhance payroll processes to improve efficiency
  • Maintain secure and accurate employee payroll records
  • Support audits and provide required payroll documentation

You’ll work closely with the finance team and wider business stakeholders to ensure payroll runs smoothly and supports operational performance.

What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience managing payroll operations end-to-end
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practice
  • Proficiency with payroll software and accounting systems (Moorepay experience highly desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, hands-on approach and feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
