Secure DevOps​/SRE Engineer — Hybrid, -Impact Systems

A high-impact technology business working across secure and mission-critical environments is looking for a Dev Ops / SRE Engineer to help build and support resilient platforms that protect and strengthen national capability. This is a chance to work on genuinely meaningful projects alongside some of the brightest engineering minds in the industry.

You’ll play a key role in designing, automating and improving highly available systems used in sensitive operational environments, with plenty of scope to influence engineering standards and platform strategy.

• Location: Gloucester (hybrid working available depending on project needs)

• Designing, deploying and supporting secure, scalable web services across multiple environments
• Driving reliability improvements, reducing technical debt and supporting incident response activities
• Building and maintaining infrastructure-as-code environments using modern automation tooling
• Developing and optimising CI/CD pipelines to support safe, repeatable deployments
• Implementing monitoring, logging and observability solutions to improve system visibility and performance
• Embedding security best practice across infrastructure, pipelines and operational processes
• Supporting containerised environments and orchestration platforms across complex systems
• Mentoring engineers and contributing to wider Dev Ops and reliability strategy initiatives

• Strong Dev Ops or Site Reliability Engineering experience within production environments
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Git Lab CI or Jenkins
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform, Ansible, Helm or similar
• Experience with monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana or Kibana
• Understanding of secure engineering practices within sensitive or regulated environments
• AWS exposure would be beneficial
• Experience with AI-enabled workflows or modern AI tooling is a bonus
• Active eDV clearance is required for this role
