Role and ResponsibilitiesThis role is designed for a technically strong cyber security or IT professional interested in progressing to a Cyber Security Architect position. You will join as a Cyber Security Engineer and develop the skills, experience and exposure needed to move into architecture, working closely with experienced security architects and engineers.
No prior architecture experience is required; we value a solid technical foundation, strong curiosity and critical thinking about system design and security. This is a growth role with a clear pathway into security architecture.
Essential Experience- Experience in cyber security, infrastructure or systems engineering
- Background in roles such as Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, SOC Analyst with strong technical depth
- Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, segmentation), operating systems (Windows/Linux), identity and access management concepts and cloud fundamentals
- Exposure to security tooling such as SIEM, IDS/IPS and EDR
- Strong understanding of core security principles such as defence in depth, least privilege and zero‑trust concepts
- Experience designing and implementing secure systems to meet HMG security requirements
- Experience managing complex technology estates with differing risk profiles
- Information Security related certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, SSCP
