Overview

DXC is recruiting for a PaaS System Administrator to work within a small team that requires a good level of knowledge on Dev Ops engineering methodologies and comfort with a cloud development environment. The role involves developing and supporting an existing Open Shift on Open Stack PaaS solution with an attitude towards delivering zero‑ops, which will require strong automation skills. The ideal candidate will be innovative and analytical with a good eye for detail and will implement standards, policies, and procedures for continual service improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide first and second level technical support on incidents and problems
  • Monitor overall system performance and ensure smooth system functionality
  • Create, maintain, and utilise documentation
  • Assist building compliance with our processes and policies
  • Able to work autonomously or within a high‑functioning team environment

Desired Skills & Technologies
  • At least two years of hands‑on production experience on Linux and Open Shift
  • Good knowledge of Linux, Kubernetes and Open Shift
  • Role‑based access control in relation to Open Shift roles and SCCs
  • Good troubleshooting skills on Open Shift and Kubernetes
  • Good troubleshooting skills in Docker and Podman
  • Confidence in using GIT/Source Control
  • Good CI/CD pipeline understanding
  • Ansible automation
  • Ability to write technical documentation
Desirable Experience
  • Experience with ArgoCD, Istio/Service Mesh, Tekton and Helm Charts will be added advantage
  • Open Shift monitoring and writing custom alerting using Prometheus Alert manager
  • CheckMK to monitor physical infrastructure
  • Experience with Red Hat Quay Container Registry
  • Experience with Red Hat CEPH Storage
  • Experience with Red Hat Open Stack
  • Experience with maintaining Dell Power Edge servers
