Platform Engineer

Gloucester.

Employment type:

Permanent, full time, Hybrid (minimum 3 days a week on site).

Due to the interesting work we do and the sector this team is working in, all candidates must be willing and eligible to hold SC and eDV clearance.

• Work as a Platform Engineer, deploying applications and software to cloud or on-prem environments for our many business areas.
• Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure.
• Understand the needs of project stakeholders.
• Automate and improve development and release processes.
• Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats.
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions.
• Work with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.

• Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/Dev Ops delivery model.
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
• Infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible.
• Experience in building and deploying large-scale applications in Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines; container platform and orchestration systems ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker.
• Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents.
• Experience in scripting languages and source control.
