Head of Supply Chain Operations & Procurement | Herefordshire/ South Wales
This one's for someone who's tired of fixing supply chains from the outside and wants to build one properly, from the top.
Our client is a specialist defence technology business, small enough that you'll know every supplier by name, serious enough that its products protect people in genuinely hostile environments. Think mission-critical electronics, not commodity kit. The work matters, and National Security Vetting will confirm you're the right person to be trusted with it (you'll typically need 5 years' continuous UK residency to qualify).
You'll lead the Supply Chain and Demand Planning function end to end. That means setting the strategy, not just running the playbook someone left you. You'll be the person who decides how the department operates for the next few years, then builds the team to deliver it.
Day to day, you'll:
- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain and demand planning professionals
- Build and own a rolling supply chain strategy that keeps the business ahead of its market
- Tighten up processes across the organisation without slowing anyone down
- Sit alongside Engineering, Technical and Commercial as a genuine partner, not a support function
- Run supply chain programmes with the discipline that regulated, high-compliance environments demand
What you'll bring
- Experience leading a supply chain or demand planning team within electronics manufacturing
- Solid grounding in UK public procurement regulations
- MCIPS qualification (non-negotiable)
- Comfort with ARAS PLM, MS Project, Visio and the usual Office tools
