Overview
The role will be hosted by Gloucestershire County Council on behalf of the Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership. You will lead the coordination of partners and activities in the partnership including the Council, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue, the Police, National Highways and others. The goal of the partnership is to achieve local and national objectives by significantly reducing the number of people killed or seriously injured on the county's roads, and to achieve Vision Zero by 2050.
You will develop and deliver strategic plans for the partnership and lead innovative and creative campaigns and interventions to encourage safer travel and reduce road traffic collisions in the county. Your role will also involve budget management and monitoring programmes. You will provide regular, timely, and accurate reporting and forecasting. You will take the lead in making funding applications to grant bodies including the Department for Transport.
You will drive the work of the partnership ensuring that the partners work together to apply the Safe System to ensure maximum impact in delivering road safety. You will play a prominent role in high priority projects for both the GRSP and the Council, to achieve a significant impact on road safety including county wide speed limit reduction initiatives.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to inspire and drive change.
- Knowledge and appreciation of the Safe System.
- Excellent problem solving, lateral thinking, and ability to encourage innovation.
- Proficiency in project, programme and budget management.
- Experience contributing to bidding for funding.
- Political awareness crucial for building and managing relationships with and between partners in the Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership.
- Strong coordination, negotiation skills and ability to maintain unity.
- Flexible working arrangements; hybrid working is available, with the ability to travel to various locations.
