Assistant Service Manager

Basic Salary: £38,000 | OTE up to £48,000 plus Company Car

At Vertu Ford Gloucester, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Service Manager to join our successful aftersales team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious automotive professional looking to take the next step in their career with one of the UK's largest motor retailers.

This role would be particularly well suited to a high-performing Service Advisor who is ready to progress into their first supervisory or management position, offering the chance to develop your leadership skills while gaining valuable experience supporting the overall operation of a busy Service Department.

Working closely with the Service Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the Service Department, ensuring excellent customer service, operational efficiency, and strong team performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Service Manager with the daily running of the Service Department.
• Planning and coordinating incoming workshop activity.
• Managing technician workloads to maximise productivity and workshop efficiency.
• Monitoring performance against departmental targets and KPIs.
• Leading, coaching and developing colleagues to achieve their full potential.
• Ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
• Supporting the delivery of a seamless customer journey from booking through to vehicle collection.

We are looking for an automotive professional with strong operational knowledge, excellent communication skills and a passion for developing people.

Candidates may already be working as a:

• Workshop Controller

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Experience with in a busy automotive aftersales environment.
• Strong leadership, coaching and organisational skills.
• A proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and achieving performance targets.
• Knowledge of Kerridge/Keyloop systems.
• The ability to motivate teams and drive high levels of productivity.
• A full UK driving licence.
