We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable multi‑franchise approved commercial vehicle dealership in Gloucester, for the position of General Manager. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced leader to oversee the operations of a thriving site within a distinguished dealer group with over 50 years of industry presence.

- Take overall responsibility for the site, ensuring operational excellence across departments including service, parts, and sales

- Control departmental and site costs to optimise profitability
- Oversee workshop scheduling, resource management, and workflow to meet customer needs
- Collaborate with marketing, IT, and other internal departments to uphold company values and policies
- Drive the achievement of KPIs through strong leadership and hands‑on management
- Develop and support apprentices and staff, conducting regular performance reviews and personal development planning
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships and undertake performance analysis for continuous improvement
- Promote health and safety initiatives, including risk assessments and training activities
- Foster a positive team environment, encouraging professional growth and high standards of service
- Proven experience as a Service Manager, Aftersales Manager, or in a similar leadership role within a medium to large franchise‑approved automotive dealership
- Previous management experience at a general management level is advantageous
- Effective leadership and team development skills
- Strong operational and financial management acumen
