Full Time | Permanent

Please note: In addition to this permanent position, GMS is also seeking an experienced Fixed Term Interim Head of Estates to provide leadership continuity while recruitment to the permanent post is completed. Lead Critical Infrastructure. Shape the Future of Healthcare Estates.

Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS) is seeking an experienced Head of Estates to provide strategic and operational leadership across a complex acute healthcare estate.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Estates, you’ll lead the delivery of safe, compliant and resilient Estates Services while driving estate strategy, infrastructure investment, sustainability initiatives and service improvement.

As Head of Estates, you’ll have the opportunity to influence the future development of a major healthcare estate, balancing operational excellence with long-term planning, sustainability and infrastructure investment.

We’re looking for a visible and collaborative leader who can inspire teams, build strong stakeholder relationships and drive continuous improvement across Estates Services.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead multi-disciplinary Estates and Engineering teams
  • Oversee safety-critical infrastructure and engineering services
  • Drive statutory compliance, governance and risk management
  • Lead capital projects, lifecycle planning and estate improvements
  • Manage significant budgets, contracts and contractor performance
  • Support sustainability, energy efficiency and Net Zero programmes
  • Provide senior leadership during incidents and emergencies
