Material Controller

12 month contract

Pay - £17.95 p/h

Our client, a leading name in aerospace manufacturing, is hiring for a reputable company based in Gloucester. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Material Controller on a 12-month contract, supporting the smooth flow of materials to meet production schedules and ensure on‑time delivery to customers.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Attend daily Materials Fulfilment meetings to review material status, prioritise kitting, and elevate concerns.
  • Create and print Work Orders aligned with the production plan.
  • Collaborate closely with Production Controllers to understand kitting priorities and standard work in progress.
  • Marshal materials between cells and transfer materials within OE and R&O organisations.
  • Check for material shortages before booking assets to stock.
  • Maintain accurate stock records in ERP systems and manual trackers, ensuring traceability of manufactured parts.
  • Apply problem‑solving skills to resolve material issues, working with cross‑functional teams.
  • Operate within a compliant environment, maintaining the integrity of business systems.
  • Support production needs, with potential for overtime or shift flexibility.
What you’ll bring:
  • Experience using ERP systems, ideally Oracle.
  • Prior experience in material control or inventory management is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Problem‑solving mindset and team‑oriented approach.
