The Machined Components Division focuses on complex engineered plastic components with tight tolerances for clients ranging from individuals to multinational companies. Across all activities, Plastim Ltd works closely with customers to deliver precise guides, wear pads, and advanced machined components tailored to their needs.

The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role at Plastim Ltd is a full-time, on-site position based in Gloucester. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision plastic components according to technical drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting appropriate tooling, adjusting machine settings, performing routine maintenance checks, and ensuring efficient machine operation. The role also involves inspecting finished parts, documenting measurements, and collaborating with the quality team to maintain tight tolerances and consistent product standards.

The CNC Machinist will work closely with engineering and production colleagues to resolve machining issues, optimize processes, and support timely delivery to customers across multiple industries.

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery handling, including safe setup, adjustment, and monitoring of CNC equipment.
• Candidates should possess solid Machining and Milling skills to produce precision components from engineering plastics to specified tolerances.
• Candidates should possess Quality Control capabilities, including part inspection, use of measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers), and accurate documentation of results.
• Candidates should preferably have experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, CNC programs, and work instructions.
• Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
• Candidates should ideally have prior experience as a CNC machinist in plastics or similar materials; an apprenticeship or vocational qualification in machining or manufacturing is beneficial.
• Candidates should be able to work effectively in a team, manage time and workload, and adapt to changing production priorities.
