An established engineering and manufacturing business based in Gloucester is seeking a Mechanical Fitter I to join its production team.
This is a hands-on mechanical assembly role, ideal for someone with practical mechanical skills who is looking to develop further within an engineering environment. You will carry out mechanical, basic pneumatic and structural assembly work under supervision, with the opportunity to develop towards Mechanical Fitter II level.
The roleWorking within the Product Line team and reporting to the Product Line Supervisor, you will help build high-quality assemblies and machines in line with engineering specifications and production schedules.
Key responsibilitiesCarry out mechanical assembly work under supervision
Complete basic pneumatic and structural assembly tasks
Build high-quality assemblies and machines to engineering specifications
Work towards production schedules and customer delivery deadlines
Complete required documentation relating to machine builds
Maintain tools and work areas to a high standard
Support daily 5S activities
Work collaboratively with colleagues across production and other departments
Develop skills through the Mechanical Skills Matrix
