CNC Turner Setter

Salary: £16.00 - £17.00 per hour DOE
Hours:
Days ? Monday to Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, Friday 8:00am-3:30pm
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner Setter to join a well-established precision engineering and CNC machining business based in Gloucester.
Key Responsibilities- Setting and operating fixed-head CNC lathes
- Working with Fanuc-controlled machinery
- Producing precision-turned components to engineering drawings and specifications
- Setting tooling, offsets and work holding
- Carrying out tool changes and machine adjustments
- Inspecting components using appropriate measuring equipment
- Maintaining tight dimensional tolerances and high-quality standards
- Working with a range of materials and producing components across varying batch sizes
- Working independently while contributing to an experienced engineering team
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
The company is committed to developing its CNC machining team and will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to expand their skill set through structured on-the-job training.
Training will include:
- Millturn lathe setup and operation
- Sliding-head CNC machining
- Developing your knowledge of more advanced CNC machining processes
- Expanding your ability to set and operate a wider range of machinery
As training is completed and additional skills are signed off, there is the opportunity to increase your hourly rate and earning potential.
This makes the position particularly suitable for an experienced CNC Turner who wants to progress their career and develop into a more versatile CNC machinist.
About YouThe ideal candidate will have previous experience as a CNC Turner Setter/Operator and be confident setting and operating fixed-head CNC lathes.
- Previous CNC turning experience
- Experience setting Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes
- Good understanding of engineering drawings
- Knowledge of tooling, offsets and machine setup
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- A strong eye for detail and commitment to quality
- The ability to work accurately and efficiently to production requirements
- A reliable and flexible approach to work
- A willingness to learn and develop new CNC machining skills
- Experience with Millturn or sliding-head machinery would be advantageous, but training will be provided for the right candidate
- Further earning potential following completion of training
- Training and development on Millturn and sliding-head lathes
