Job Summary

This role is offered on a permanent basis. The hours are up to 34 per week and include nights and twilight shifts. An internal secondment may also be considered.

We are looking for caring, compassionate and hardworking nurses who want to make a difference in an out‑of‑hours community nursing service.

The service operates from 7 pm until 8 am and is co‑located with the Integrated Urgent Care Service and the Rapid Response team.

We provide community nursing services to patients requiring unplanned care in the evenings and overnight. Our team supports one another, offers guidance and mentorship and is committed to professional development.

The post holder will work night shifts (10 pm to 8 am) and some twilight shifts (7 pm to 1 am). The service operates seven days a week, and post holders will be expected to cover weekends and bank holidays. The job offers a flexible working policy and leverages mobile technology to record patient information in real time.

Driving licence and use of vehicle for work purposes are essential for this role.

• Registered Nurse with NMC
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• Evidence of continued professional development

• Evidence of post‑registration training

• Relevant post‑registration experience
• Knowledge and understanding of clinical issues
• Experience of working autonomously within a developing area and professional scope of practice

• Previous experience providing acute/chronic patient care
• Previous experience of community practice
• Experience of lone working out of hours
