Are you an experienced Quality Inspector with strong CMM programming experience looking to join an innovative manufacturing businesses in the UK?

Our client is a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing company at the forefront of composite technology, supplying lightweight structural components to the aerospace, defence, automotive and space sectors. Following significant investment and continued growth, they are looking to add a Quality Inspector to their quality team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on inspection role and wants to work with cutting-edge composite and metallic components within a fast-paced, highly technical manufacturing environment.

The Role As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring products meet customer, regulatory and internal quality requirements. The position will predominantly focus on CMM programming and inspection activities whilst supporting wider quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Job Description

Program and operate CMM equipment to inspect composite and metallic components
Carry out visual and dimensional inspections on incoming materials, in-process parts and finished products
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and specifications
Produce inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records
Support Gauge R&R studies and capability assessments
Create FAIR documentation and supporting quality packs
Generate documentation required for Certificates of Conformity (CoC)
Support MRB activities and non-conformance investigations
Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within quality processes
Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO
9001 and customer quality requirements

Essential Skills, Qualification & Experience

Experience working within a manufacturing quality environment
Hands-on CMM programming and operation experience
Knowledge of PCDMIS or similar CMM software
Strong dimensional inspection skills
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Experience using inspection equipment such as callipers, micrometres and gauges
Understanding of non-conformance processes and MRB activities
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Desirable Experience
Composite manufacturing experience
Aerospace or defence industry experience
Familiarity with CAD models and inspection planning
