What You Will Do- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of The Crypt Café, ensuring a welcoming and efficient service for pupils, staff and visitors.
- Lead and organise daily tasks, supporting the team to deliver consistently high standards.
- Prepare and serve a range of food and beverages, including cooking main dishes.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, food safety, health and hygiene across the café.
- Complete daily due diligence and temperature records, ensuring all compliance requirements are met.
- Manage cash handling and daily reconciliations in line with College procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with stock takes as required.
- Support hospitality events and provide cover in other catering areas when needed.
- Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues, delivering outstanding customer service at every opportunity.
- Previous experience in a catering, café, hospitality or food service environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage a busy workload.
- A positive, hands‑on approach and a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- The ability to motivate others and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Confidence working independently and taking responsibility for the smooth running of an area.
- A good understanding of food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, friendly manner.
- A proactive and self‑motivated attitude, with a willingness to support different areas of the catering operation when required.
