Sous Chef

The George is a traditional pub offering a warm and friendly atmosphere alongside good quality pub food served all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The George is also well known for its popular Sunday Carvery, served every Sunday from midday.

We're looking for an Assistant Chef (or an ambitious Chef de Partie ready to take the next step) to work alongside and support our Head Chef in delivering consistently excellent food and maintaining a high-performing kitchen.

• Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Assisting with menu development and daily specials
• Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to consistently high standards
  
  Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
• Helping to train and support junior team members
• Ensuring smooth service during busy periods

• Previous experience as an Assistant Chef, Sous Chef or Chef de Partie
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Passion for producing quality food
• The ability to work well under pressure as part of a team
• Reliable transport is essential due to our rural location

40-45 hours per week | Two consecutive weekdays off - Live in accommodation available for the right person!
