Assistant Chef

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Chef to join our dedicated team at our care home in central Gloucester. Our kitchen, thoughtfully designed by an award-winning chef, serves as the heart of our home, which provides 24-hour residential and dementia care for up to 102 elderly residents. We are committed to creating a homely, safe, and sustainable environment where both residents and staff can thrive.

Our aim is to offer first-class cuisine that not only looks appealing and tastes delicious but also caters to the individual preferences and dietary needs of each resident. Achieving this requires creativity, nutritional expertise, leadership, and a genuine interest in our residents' wellbeing. In this role, you will assist in designing and planning menus, managing all aspects of the kitchen, and contributing to the cohesive functioning of our catering team.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate on menu planning to meet diverse dietary needs. Manage kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety. Lead and support the catering team in delivering exceptional meals. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for both residents and team members. Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar role, with a passion for culinary excellence. Strong understanding of nutrition and dietary needs, particularly for the elderly. Leadership and teamwork skills. Commitment to maintaining a high standard of care and service. The successful candidate will be subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.
