Construction / Building Products / Technical Sales Are you an experienced Area Sales Manager with a proven track record in specification sales of selling into the construction or related sectors? We are looking for a commercially driven sales professional to take responsibility for developing and growing an established customer base across the South West . This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys winning new business, developing existing accounts and building long-term relationships with customers, contractors and other key stakeholders.

The Role As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales across your territory, identifying new opportunities and maximising existing customer relationships. Key responsibilities will include:
Managing and developing an established customer base across the South West. Identifying and winning new business opportunities within the territory. Building strong, long-term relationships with customers, contractors and key decision-makers. Developing and managing a healthy sales pipeline to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Conducting regular customer visits, site visits and face-to-face meetings. Providing customers with product and technical information where required.

Working closely with internal teams to ensure a high level of customer service and support. Monitoring competitor activity and identifying opportunities for market growth. Preparing quotations, negotiating commercial terms and following opportunities through to completion. Providing regular sales forecasts and activity reports to senior management. Experience selling through or directly to builders' merchants, contractors, developers, house builders, architects, specifiers or other construction professionals would be highly advantageous.

The Person Proven experience in an Area Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Business Development Manager or similar field-based sales role. Specific sales experience within construction, building products or a closely related technical sector is essential. Strong track record of developing existing accounts and winning new business. Confident working independently and managing a large geographical territory. Excellent relationship-building and communication skills. Commercially focused with a strong understanding of sales pipelines and targets.

Comfortable conducting face-to-face customer and site meetings. Full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel extensively throughout the South West. Relevant backgrounds could include:
