Advanced Practitioner – Children & Families Gloucestershire County Council
Permanent Position
Relocation Allowance Available – up to £8,000 (T&Cs apply) Gloucestershire County Council is seeking experienced and motivated Advanced Practitioners to join our Children & Families teams on a permanent basis. Skilled Worker Applications Applications from Skilled Workers currently living and working in the UK will be considered, subject to the following criteria:
Currently registered with Social Work England (SWE)
Looking to transfer Certificate of Sponsorship and relocate to Gloucestershire
A minimum of 2 years’ UK experience in statutory children’s services
What We Offer In recognition of your skills, experience, and commitment, we offer a competitive and attractive benefits package:
Salary: £48,226 – £51,356 per annum (subject to experience)
* Annual retention payment: £2,000
Welcome payment: £4,000
Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the office
Annual leave: 25.5 days, rising to 30.5 days after 5 years’ continuous service
* Please note:
starting salary is up to £49,764 per annum depending on experience, plus an initial welcome payment of £4,000.
About the Role As an Advanced Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service that achieves the best outcomes for children and young people with complex needs.
You will:
Hold a protected caseload, working with children and families facing significant challenges, risks, and complexities
Lead on quality assurance, service improvement, and performance activities within your team and across the service
Provide monthly reflective supervision to Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) and undertake observations of practice (line management remains with Team Managers)
Support and mentor Social Work students within the team

About You To be successful in this role, you will need:
Social Work England registration
A recognised Social Work qualification
Experience at Senior Social Worker level
Successful completion of ASYE
A full UK driving licence and willingness to drive
Enhanced DBS clearance
