About the role
Having recently launched our Kinship Local Offer, this is an exciting time to join the Local Authority and play a key role in shaping and strengthening support for Kinship Foster Carers across the county. The Kinship Support Team works closely with carers and children's social workers to ensure children grow up in safe, stable, and nurturing homes. The team oversees all private fostering arrangements within the county, an important safeguarding responsibility, including regular visits to children and young people to ensure their wellbeing and that placements meet statutory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide supervision, guidance and practical support to kinship foster carers to help them thrive in their role.
- Conduct regular visits to children and young people.
- Ensure placements meet statutory requirements.
- Work closely with children's social workers to coordinate care.
- Valid right to work in the UK or eligible for sponsorship.
- A full driving licence and willingness to drive.
- DBS clearance (Enhanced Adults and Children's).
- Completed ASYE year (if qualified after 2012).
- Ability to demonstrate spoken English fluency for customer-facing role (Immigration Act 2016).
- Compliance with Equality Act (2010) – please declare disability status when applying.
- Pay: £39,152 – £47,181 per annum subject to experience.
- £2,000 retention payment.
- £4,000 welcome payment.
- Up to £8,000 relocation allowance.
