Enablement Coordinator

We have two full-time Enablement Coordinator positions available within our Supported Accommodation Service in the Mental Health Social Work Service. These posts are fixed term for 12 months. The Supported Accommodation Service works with adults with mental health needs who require support to live safely and as independently as possible in their accommodation. The service focuses on building daily living skills, promoting choice and control, supporting tenancy sustainment, and helping people to connect with their community and wider support networks, within a supported living environment.

The overall goal of the service is to support people to move into independent housing. As an Enablement Coordinator, you will provide practical, person-centred support to individuals living in supported accommodation. You will work alongside people to identify their strengths, goals and support needs, helping them to develop the skills and confidence needed to manage day-to-day living, maintain their accommodation, and increase their independence.

You will gather and record information clearly and accurately, contribute to support planning, and work collaboratively with colleagues, housing providers, health professionals and community partners to ensure people receive coordinated and effective support. It is a legal requirement under the Immigration Act 2016 that anyone appointed to a customer-facing role must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for the majority of our roles, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them while balancing service need and individual choice, with a mix of remote and office working. To join us, you must have:
• a NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Community Work, or equivalent qualification, or equivalent Health and Social Care experience
• training related to Health and Social Care
• experience of working with individuals, ideally in a mental health setting, who need support to achieve outcomes, particularly around independent living, wellbeing, housing or tenancy sustainment
• evidence of good interpersonal skills, including the ability to build positive working relationships with people using the service, colleagues and partner agencies
• good IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office and an ability to use and learn in-house systems.
• awareness of the UK benefits system would be desirable.
