B008 Student Safeguarding Officer

About this Role

You'llsupport students' safety, wellbeing and success by managing safeguarding concerns, providing advice and one-to-one support, and working closely with colleagues and external agencies where needed. You'll help learners overcome challenges, respond to welfare and safeguarding concerns, and ensure appropriate support is in place. You'll also deliver awareness sessions,contribute to positive college-wide initiatives, maintain accurate records, andkeep your safeguarding knowledge up to date through ongoing professional development.

• A confident communicator who can respond calmly and professionally to sensitive situations,maintain accurate and confidential records, and work effectively with colleagues, families and external partners.
• Committed to continuous professional development, equality and diversity, and working collaboratively to deliver high-quality support, training and guidance thathelps every student reach their potential.

• GSCP Safeguarding Level 3 Understanding Child Protection qualification or equivalent experience
• Experience contributing to or leading multi-agency meetings
• Experience of:
  • Responding appropriately to disclosures of abuse
  • Undertaking risk assessments and safety planning
  • Maintaining accurate safeguarding records
