AI Engineer​/Developer

Position Description

At CGI, you will help design and deliver advanced AI solutions that support mission‑critical systems across the Space, Defence and Intelligence sector.

As an AI Developer / Engineer, you will build and deploy intelligent applications that unlock the value of data, enhance decision‑making, and drive operational impact. You’ll work with cutting‑edge technologies and expert teams, taking ownership of complex challenges, contributing innovative ideas, and growing your career in a collaborative environment.

Location:

Site near Gloucester. This role requires UK Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain it.

• Design and develop AI‑enabled applications and machine learning solutions
• Build and optimise end‑to‑end ML pipelines and data workflows
• Train, fine‑tune and deploy models, including large language models and other AI systems
• Integrate and enhance AI capabilities within existing platforms
• Deploy and manage AI workloads using containerisation and orchestration tools
• Collaborate and innovate with cross‑functional teams to solve complex challenges
• Monitor and improve model performance and scalability in production

• Strong Python development skills
• Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and AI concepts
• Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensor Flow or Lang Chain
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning models into production
• Knowledge of data pipelines and CI/CD practices
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or similar technologies
• Familiarity with LLMs, retrieval systems or vector databases (desirable)
• Experience working with GPU or on‑premise AI environments (advantageous)
