PLC Software Engineer - Gloucester / near to Cotswolds Special Purpose Machinery

£60k + Site Uplift (estimated £3‑10k per year) + Private Healthcare + 25 Days Holiday

Join a well-established special purpose machine manufacturer supplying automated machinery worldwide. This PLC Software Engineer role blends software development, machine support and international commissioning work.

The successful PLC Software Engineer will design and build bespoke machinery for a global customer base. They will work on varied projects, travel abroad, and benefit from a work‑life balance that includes 9 working days every 10 (about 37 hours per week over a 2‑week cycle).

Applicants must be British or European nationals due to international travel requirements.

• Focus on PLC, HMI and motion control programming for special purpose machinery
• Experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell Studio 5000 and Kinetix motion systems (other PLC & motion system experience will be considered)
• Siemens TIA Portal experience is advantageous but not essential
• Support machine builds, commissioning activities and customer installations
• Work with networked control, vision systems and motion control applications
• International travel approximately 4‑5 times per year, typically 2‑3 week trips to destinations such as the USA, Turkey, North Africa and China
• Work pattern: 9 days every fortnight, providing an extra 22 days holiday per year, for a total of 47 paid days + Bank Holidays
• Comfortable working directly with customers and supporting equipment in the field
• Strong emphasis on machine safety and high engineering standards
• Location close to the Cotswolds

• Basic salary of £60,000
