Software Engineer – Gloucester or Manchester

Raytheon UK is hiring a full‑time permanent Software Engineer to join our team on the Gloucester or Manchester sites. The role involves delivering and deploying critical software across a variety of business areas, collaborating with stakeholders and customers to deliver secure, mission-critical systems. All candidates must be willing to attain an eDV clearance.

• Design and build software using industry best practice.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and other engineers.

• Collaborate with your peers on technical direction within your team.

• Core Software Engineering – JavaScript frameworks (React, NextJS), Type Script, Python, Java, REST API development, OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Cloud & Infrastructure – Cloud services (AWS or Azure), containerisation & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift), infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Data & Search Technologies – Relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), Elasticsearch/Open search.
• Testing & Quality – Unit testing and automation, testing frameworks (e.g., Mocha, Jest, Cypress).
• Delivery & Collaboration – Experience working in an Agile delivery team, use of code repositories (e.g., Git Lab); familiarity with branching strategies, pull requests and merge processes.
