We are looking for a Senior FPGA Engineer with experience in VHDL (or Verilog) to join our growing team at our Gloucester site. As an FPGA Engineer you will work within a multi-skilled team, using the OpenCPI framework to build, test, and optimize software-defined radio systems and RF applications.

You'll work closely with peers, Delivery Managers and Technical Leads to ensure that the customer mission requirements are achieved in efficient and innovative ways.

• Component and Worker Development – Undertake the development and integration of DSP and SDR functions in VHDL which will be incorporated into a wider OpenCPI application.
• System Design & Integration – Operate within a cross-functional team designing and integrating RF communication systems, ensuring seamless operation within complex mission environments.
• Test & Measurement – Engage in test driven development strategies and consider testing throughout the development lifecycle of an application, implementing test harnesses and simulations for effective system verification and validation.
• Software Optimization – Optimize the performance of OpenCPI-based systems, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability on an exciting variety of hardware platforms.
• Innovation – Embrace the use of the latest AI/ML tooling and hybrid cloud compute environments to deliver results that continually outpace and challenge the status quo.

This role requires you to be able to obtain and maintain eDV security clearance. You don't need to hold eDV clearance when you apply. If you don't currently have it, we'll support you through the application process.

It is expected that you can evidence prior experience and an ability to continue to grow in one of the following:

• Using VHDL to implement efficient solutions on resource constrained embedded devices
• Working with RF communications and software-defined radio technologies and architectures
• Working knowledge of digital signal processing, algorithm or payload development, and embedded system design
• Competent in VHDL (or Verilog) for embedded applications

• EW or SIGINT capability development (including RF waveform and protocol vulnerability analysis)
• Familiarity with Gnu Radio, Mat Lab, AMD EDF or other SDR development tools
• Commercial and Military communications stacks and modem development (e.g IEEE 802.x, COFDM, Satcoms, or Link 16)
• Working in AWS and CICD pipelined environments, especially with Git Lab and Linux
• Real-time test and measurement, using tools such as vector signal analyzers
