Are you passionate about empowering young people to thrive in school and beyond? A warm, inclusive primary school in the Godalming, Surrey area is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference every single day.
About the RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key part in helping students with access learning, feel confident, and develop important life and social skills. Your role will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Helping maintain a calm, structured and engaging learning environment
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN specialists and external professionals
- Encouraging independence, communication and confidence
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in schools, care, or personal settings)
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting pupils
- The ability to build trusting relationships and use positive behaviour support
- A proactive, reliable attitude and confidence in the classroom
- Requirements:
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- A passion for supporting and empowering children and young people
- A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- A strong commitment to safeguarding
